He was predeceased by: his parents, Chancellor Richard and Esther Williamson (Glover); and his siblings, Dorothy Newbold, Elizabeth Corkey and John Williamson.

He is survived by: his wife Helen Williamson; his children, Nicola Williamson, Vanessa (Tim Record) and John R. D. Williamson (Katharine Evans); and his grandchildren, William, Felicity, Alden Record and Sophie Williamson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
