Roberta Jo Grove Obituary
The passing of Roberta Jo Grove of Frankfort, Maine occurred on July 19, 2026. Roberta, born on September 6, 1932, is remembered by those who knew her. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Beekman and Osie Beekman (Shiverdecker); her husband Harold Grove; and her sisters, Betty and Beverly.
She is survived by: her daughter Susan (Robert Grove-Markwood); her grandsons, James Lainsbury, Jason Lainsbury (Kristen), Ian Markwood and Christopher Markwood (Ashley); her son Harold Brian (Brian); her daughter-in-law Valerie Grove (Gray) of Frankfort; and her grandchildren, Harold Rusty Grove (Amanda), Pasco Grove (Sarah) and Haley Reed-Hall (Adam). She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Holden Congregational Church (9 Rider Bluff Rd, Holden, ME 04429). At Roberta's request the service will be a celebration of life for both Roberta and Harold, since COVID disrupted the opportunity for a public gathering to remember Harold's life.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to the Activities Department of the Maine Veterans Home, 44 Hogan Road, Bangor, Maine 04401.
