She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Benner, Sr. and Frances Benner (Simmons); her husband Joel Maxcy; her siblings, Charles Benner Jr., Arnold Benner and Beverly Winslow (Billy Winslow); and her stepson Michael Maxcy.

She is survived by: her children, Kelly Maxcy (David) of Friendship and Charles Barter (Lori) of Friendship; her grandchildren, Kenny Barter (Jasmine) of Rockland, Aaron Maxcy of Friendship, Dave Maxcy Jr. of Friendship, Abigail Barter of Standish, Caleb Barter of Thomaston, Silas Barter of Friendship, Hannah Waters of Isle, Haut and Connor Maxcy; her great grandchild Jude Mahonen of Rockland; her sister-in-law Dorothy Benner; her cousin Norma Staples; her foster siblings, Christine Starrett, George Hendron and Wilfred Hendron; and her stepdaughters, Melissa Oxner of Mississippi and Lavillda Mlynarski-Granger of Texas. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
