We are sad to announce that, on May 10, 2026, at the age of 89, Gerald E. Ellis in Houlton, Maine passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Gerald's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Gerald has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Ellis and Alvean Ellis (Jay); his grandson Nicholas; his brothers, James, Donald and Arnold; and his son-in-law Bill Swales.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Ellis (Smallwood) of Houlton; his daughters, Catherine Belyea (Wayne) of Houlton and Joann Swales of Bangor; his grandchildren, Jill Hyman and Jimmy Swales; and his brothers-in-law, George and Paul Smallwood. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
