He was predeceased by: his parents, Onezime Blanchette and Ernestine Blanchette (Rossignol); his wife Mary Blanchette (Henderson); and his brothers, Gary, Roger, Donald, Brian and David.

He is survived by: his children, Deborah Ropple (Edward) and Peter Blanchette (Rhonda) of Houlton, ME; his grandson Andrew Blanchette (Christiana) of Manchester, NH; his sons, Christopher Blanchette of Saco, ME, Benjamin Ropple of Tucson, AZ and Edward Ropple (Gabby) of Braintree, MA; and his siblings, Richard Blanchette (Terry) of Saco, ME and Ann Prendergast (John) of Litchfield, NH. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
