With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George Nelson Bentley Jr. (Kennebunk, Maine), born in Dayton, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 1, 2025 at the age of 72. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Nelson Bentley and Ruth Lehmann Bentley. He is survived by: his children, George Nelson Bentley III, Carsten Bentley, Thea Bentley and Bjorn Bentley; and his sisters, Eleanor Merrick and Anne Fell (Fred Fell). He is also survived by nephews, countless friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church (2 Lord St, Kennebunk, ME 04043). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church and Sweetser, a nonprofit serving mental and behavioral health needs across Maine.
