She was predeceased by : her parents, Raymond Carter and Dorothy Carter (Brock); and her sister Joyce Gendron. She is survived by : her children, Sally, Amy Delano (Derek), TJ Sawyer (Samantha) and Jill Sawyer (James Ricciardi); her grandchildren, Drew, Reid, Maggie and Ryan; her close friend Robert Brooks; her brother-in-law Robert Gendron; and her nephew Neil Gendron (Jennifer).

The nickname morphed into the "Yak-Yaks" during the pandemic when the friend group had to rely on weekly zoom meetings to catch up with each other.
