He was predeceased by: his parents, David Major, Sr. and Veronica Rita Major (Sturtevant); his wife Flora Major; his siblings, David Major, Jr. (Irene), Mary Elwell (Richard) and Joyce Reid (Allen); his sister-in-law Judy Major; and his sister Patricia Crane (Gary, Sr.).
He is survived by: his children, Ed Major (Lisa), Pam Major, Ron Major (Amy) and Patti Lynch (Kevin); and his siblings, Larry Major, Sr. (Sally) of Pelham, NH, George Major of Kittery, Jerry Major (Terry) of Norway, Sandra Coutermarsh (David) of Polk City, Ruth Goding of Auburn and Robert Major (Darlene) of Pace, Florida.. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great granddaughter.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the American Legion (41 Elm St, Mechanic Falls, ME 04256).
