He was predeceased by : his wife Margaret Gillespie (Wylie); and his siblings, Wilfred, Ralph Gillespie, Martina Gillespie, Catherine Gillespie, Sister Mary Adeline Gillespie, Germaine Staples and Helen Bubar.
He is survived by : his children, Krista Newsome (Robert) of Norwich, CT, John H. Gillespie of Limestone and Peter A. Gillespie (Sokie West Gillespie) of Raleigh, NC; his sisters, Jeane Byrne of Florida, Marjorie Murray of Cape Elizabeth and Ann Santinelli of Milford, NH; his brother-in-law Roger Bubar of Fort Fairfield; his grandchildren, Shane, Meagan Gillespie of Raleigh, NC, Austin Newsome of Norwich, CT, Alexandra DiPietro of Colchester, CT and Abigail Feder-Craney of Lebanon, CT; his stepgrandson Jona West of Raleigh, NC; and his great grandchildren, Josephine and Lorelei Showalter of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
