He was predeceased by : his parents, Willard Stone and Jennie Stone (Newell); his daughter Cynthia Stone Gross; his siblings, Arthur, Alton Stone and Donna Sproul; and his brother-in-law Robert Sproul.

He is survived by : his wife Debra Stone of Livermore; his children, Lincoln Stone of Dixfield and Batina Cunningham (John) of Bangor; his stepson Michael Witkos of Conneticut; and his brother Fred Stone (Doris) of Rumford.
