Peter P. Thornton Obituary
We are sad to announce that on June 24, 2025, at the age of 81, Peter P. Thornton of Long Island, Maine passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thornton and Nona Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Kirby; his stepson Matthew Thornton; his children, Matthew, William, Madison and Meg Zumba (Pete); his granddaughter Georgia; his daughter Emily Rekuc (Bob); and his grandchildren, Lucy and Sam.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (307 Congress St, Portland, ME 04101). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the New Hill Cemetery.
