She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Gay and Barbara Gay (Hayward); and her brother Robert "Bobby" Gay. She is survived by: her husband Gary Dowling; her children, Nicole Verburgt (Stephen) of Cutler, ME. and Corin Dowling of East Machias, ME.; her sisters, Rebecca Brewer (Brian Seltzer) of Gales Ferry, CT and Lois Stenger (Rob) of Enfield, NH.; her nieces and nephews, Jordan Brewer (Justin Caras), Wesley and Tucker Stenger; and her great-niece Cora Caras.
