John Joseph Whynott Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Joseph Whynott (Machias, Maine), who passed away on June 2, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Whynott and Alta Whynott (Foss); his siblings, Gloria, Edith, Katherine, Wilbert Jr. (Buddy) and James; and his son Jeffrey Whynott.

He is survived by: his brother Frank Whynott; his children, Jamey Whynott and Shannon Stull; his grandchildren, Joseph, Jean, Daniel, Christopher, Nicole, McKenzie, Calie, John Joseph, Gabriel and Matthew; his partner's daughters, Sherri Williams and Kimberly Karam; and also, Dylan, Wesley, Seth, Emma, Noah, Abram, Gabriel and John. He is also survived by several in-laws, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Jacksonville Cemetery.

Gifts in remembrance in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Salvation Army or another Christian Community Charity of your choice.
