He was predeceased by his parents, John R. Bury, Jr. and Eloise Cogswell Bury. He is survived by : his wife Mary L. Bury (Myers); his siblings, Carol Williams, Susan Saxton and their spouses, Steve and David; brother-in-law Bert Myers; and his adopted son Michael L. Bury; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rick went to Heaven after a long, courageous battle with COPD and congestive heart failure. He was a Christian, Freemason, Stephen Minister, fraternity brother, and lifelong Washington Redskins and Nationals fan. He was also a walking history book and loved to make people smile.
No formal funeral arrangements are being made at this time. Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations to the American Heart Association or St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Purcellville, Virginia.
