It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Nancy Anne Oakes of Milo, Maine, born in Old Town, Maine, who passed away on May 2, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Gerard Dubè and Juliette Dubè (Jamm); and her sisters, Rose Simpkins, Joan Cote, Beverly Therrien and Dorothy Landry.

She is survived by : her husband Walter E. Oakes Jr.; her children, Janet Smith (Jim) of Industry, Don Oakes (Valerie) of Falmouth, Karen Thurston (Glen) of Rumford and Joanna Deetjen (John) of Newport; her grandchildren, Matthew Oakes (Morgan), Logan White, Jay Smith (Johanna Heeren), Casey Oakes, Ethan White, Shane Smith (Sacha), Lauren Dighton (Joe) and Christina Oakes; her great grandchildren, Cameron White and Myles Dighton; her brother Francis Dubay (Anne); and her brother-in-law Wayne Therrien.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be purchasing a gift in her memory for the St. Francis/St. Paul Parish. Anyone wishing to contribute should please send donations to Joanna Deetjen, P.O. Box 22, Newport, Maine 04953.
