He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar L. Saunders and Clara Saunders (Fenderson); and his wife Anita (Clark). He is survived by: his significant other Judy Hale; his children, Edward Saunders (Laurie), Alden "Buddy" Saunders (Jennifer) and Deborah Saunders; and his sister Doris Ginn of Surry. He is also survived by four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
