With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David E. Honey Sr. (Mount Desert, Maine), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 29, 2025 at the age of 97. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of David E. Honey Sr. to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward B Honey and Gertrude Honey (Welch); his wife Carolyn J Grover; his sister Anne Winchester; and his son-in-law Joe Rooney.
He is survived by: his children, David, Jr. (Lorraine) and Brenda of Great Pond; his granddaughters, Michelle Austin (David), Jubilee Bailey (Jeff), Heather Stott (Tom) and Jasmine Honey; his great grandchildren, Lily Bailey, Alexis Austin and Devin Austin; his great great grandchildren, Lily, Gracie and Emmy (Austin); and his siblings, Lynda Vinton (Sam) and Peter Honey.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home (113 Franklin St, Ellsworth, ME 04605). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in Dave's memory to the Maine Veteran's Home Activities Fund at 44 Hogan Rd, Bangor, ME 04401 so others will be blessed like dad was.
