He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford J. Higgins and Marie F Higgins (Murphy); and his sister Elizabeth Suzor. He is survived by: his wife Leifann Higgins (Thelin) of Otisfield; his sons, John J. Higgins Jr. (Alisha Sessions) of Mechanic Falls, ME, Curtis Higgins of Sanford, ME and David Higgins of Biddeford, ME; his stepson Derek Searles of Westbrook, ME.; and his siblings, James "Jimmy" Higgins of Kennebunk and Linda Mattiuchio of Kennebunk.
