She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Henry Johnson and Vernita Johnson; her son Peter J. Root; her sisters, Virginia Hoadley and Shirley Williams; her husband Dr. John A. Root; her children, Jeanne (Howard Goldberg), John A., Jr. (Susan Root), Nancy (Ralph Hopkins) and Kathryn (Eric White); and her nephew John Hoadley (Marie). She was also cherished by her 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
