It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Deborah M. Hewko (Portland, Maine), who passed away on May 1, 2026, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Deborah may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lola B. Winslow (Barnett) and Houston Jesse Winslow; and her siblings, Dorothy, Frances, Winifred and Donald.
She is survived by: her husband John Hewko; her children, Anna Marie Cormack of Springvale, ME, Christopher John Hewko of South Portland, ME and Dan Demers; and her grandson Rowan Jagger of Springvale. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends.
