He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Harris and Verna Harris (Bubar); his wife Helen Harris (Edgerley); his son James Harris, Jr. (Jamie) of Baton Rouge; and his siblings, Earl Harris Jr. (Junior), Ralph Harris (Buddy), Virginia Post, Eleanor Greenlaw, Lois Gaudet and Susan Brown.
He is survived by: his daughter Brenda Taxiarchis (Nicholas) of Buxton; and his grandson Mark Harris of Baton Rouge. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
