She was predeceased by: her mother Harriet S. Strattard; her former husband Charles Cleaves; and her stepchildren, Chucky Cleaves and Tony Cleaves. She is survived by: her husband Bruce Bell; her son Timothy Cleaves; her granddaughters, Faith Cleaves and Cassidy Cleaves (Janet); her siblings, Richard Leighton, Rodger Leighton, Edwin Leighton and Jean Leighton; and her stepchildren, Daniel Bell, James Bell, Doreen Bell, Carlene Bennett and Mark Bell.

She crocheted as many blankets as her fingers would allow, giving them to loved ones and donating dozens to hospitals and those in need.
