She was predeceased by: her parents, John Dougherty and Florence Dougherty (Devine); her husband Alfred W. Romano Sr.; her sisters, Karen Dumond and Lorraine (George Shutts); and her brother-in-law Reginald Thompson.
She is survived by: her children, Al Romano, Paul (Alex Romano), Joseph (Kelly Romano), Julie (Rick Green), Kristy, Daniel (Christine Romano), Bruce (Adriana Romano) and Amalia (Steve Hanlon); her siblings, John Jr. (Vivian Dougherty) and Rita Thompson; Bob Esposito. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and many beloved extended family members and special friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Janet's memory to the South Portland Historical Society, 55 Bug Light Park, South Portland, ME 04106 or St. Pius X Church.
