With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Janice Marie Bento of Portland, Maine, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 3, 2025 at the age of 86. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Dick and Stella Dick (Rogers); her husband Manuel Bento Sr.; and her brothers, Dr. Richard J. Dick of Presque Isle, Franklin G. Dick of Portland and Frederick "Teddy" Dick of Carlsbad, California..
She is survived by: her children, Michelle L. Bento (James Dyer) of Saco, Manuel Bento Jr. of Portland, Barbara A. Goodwin (Philip) of Cape Elizabeth and Vickie L. Hamilton Bento of WinslowShe; her grandchildren, Andrea Bento, John Michael Galli, Metalia Bento, Monica Purtell, Alex, Casey Goodwin, Dantè and Dominique Hamilton; and her great grandchildren, Benjamin Siekman, Kendra Davidson, Evalyn, Lorelei Purtell and Makenzie Roy. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Jones-Rich-Barnes Funeral Home (199 Woodford St, Portland, ME 04103). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (307 Congress St, Portland, ME 04101).
