John K. Gillespie Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John K. Gillespie (Portland, Maine), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 13, 2026 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though John may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Marian Gillespie and Henry Gillespie; his wife Cheryl Grant Gillespie; his daughters, Darcie Hohwald (Stephen) and Kelsey Gillespie; and his granddaughter Maya Hohwald. He was also cherished by dogs and friends.
