Louise Whitehead Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Louise Whitehead of Portland, Maine, who passed away on February 26, 2021 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Anne Connolly (MacIsaac) and Joseph Connolly; her husband Lorimer Edward Whitehead (Larry); and her siblings, John Connolly (Leah), Pat Connolly (Bette), Dennis Connolly (Mary), Kaye Connolly, Ann Culligan (Joe), Ray Matheson and Paddy Gillis.

She is survived by : her children, Dr. Bruce Whitehead (Alicia) of Dallas, Texas, Dawn Kenniston (Joel) of Portland, Dr. Charles Whitehead (Kim Emery) of Gorham and Nancy MacLellan (Michael DeCoste) of Halifax; her grandchildren, Erin, Calen (Jessica), Daniel (Meg), Jeffrey (Veronica), Maggie (Matt), Kathryn, Cameron (Kristen), Joshua, Jennifer (Theo), Owen and Lily; her great grandchildren, Norah, Sadie, Grace and August; her grandchildren, Ryan (Chelsea), Zach and Nick; and her siblings, Eileen Gillis, Rev. Owen Connolly and Barbara Matheson.

A funeral service will be held, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, when Covid restrictions allow.

“Thinking of you and your family on the death of your mother. We just watched the funeral. It was beautiful. Dawn, I so remember waiting for the station wagon to pull in to Big Pond in the summer when we knew you were coming. Dr Owen Carrigan has a cottage in Middle Cape, Cape Breton. With one of the identical station wagons that you use to have. Brings back memories every time I pass it.
