It is with sadness that the passing of Peter Philip Ames (Portland, Maine) is shared. Peter, born on March 30, 1961, passed away on September 28, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Peter will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Peter by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Peter is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Peter’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He is survived by: his wife Alice O'Malley Ames; his children, Brittany Allen (Shane), Lucy and Matthew Ames (Ashley); his pet Pudge; his parents, Alan Ames, Sr. and Donna Ames; and his siblings, Alan Ames, Jr. (Ann) and Laurel Webber (Gary). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, extended family members, and countless dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jones-Rich-Barnes Funeral Home (199 Woodford St, Portland, ME 04103). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Pius X Catholic Church (492 Ocean Ave, Portland, ME 04103).
