Simonson; his child-in-law Kyle; his grandson Ian; his daughter Tarra Sheerer (Travis); his grandsons, Timothy Huebler and Benjamin Huebler; his granddaughter-in-law Jula; his great grandchild Celia; his children, Erik Nielsen, Kimberly and Hudak; his sister Judith Nielsen of Portland; his niece Sonja Nielsen; his close friend Jim Gammon; his great-niece Karli (David McDonald); his siblings-in-law, Karen Withee and Mark Withee (Bonnie Flaherty); his niece Michelle (Kevin Alley); Kristina Nielsen (Joseph Huebler).
