“I worked for “Rusty” at Riverton Fire Station. I was just starting my career, and Lieutenant Woods (as I knew him) was near the end of his. He always had a joke loaded up in the chamber ready to fire at me when I walked through the door. I never knew him to be in a bad mood. He was always cheerful and easy to be around. When I was assigned a task, he would always offer a sincere “job well done” and kindly thank me for completing it. I’m grateful to have known him. Best to his loved ones.”

“I worked with Russell at the jetport, where I cleaned the boiler room for him, so he could “keep warm” in there as he used that room to escape to read his books. It was the ONLY TIME that room was ever scrubbed and cleaned. I also recall showing up for work when the FAA inspector was there, and he always shined on his HOT DRILLS.. My condolences to his family.”
