He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Alice (Campbell) and John Guy Gallagher; and his siblings, Lloyd, John, J. Patrick, Ralph, Donald, Gerald and Theresa.
He is survived by: his wife Patty (Patricia Anne Coffin); his son Tristan Alain Gallagher; his daughter-in-law Michelle Souliere of Portland; his sister Mary Schneider (Gallagher); his niece Elaine Gallagher Sipe (Brian); and his friends, Ted and Sarah Shields. He is also survived by her cousins, nieces and nephews, and now their children.
In 1966 he received a Rotary Foundation Fellowship which allowed him to study at the Université de Montpellier in France.
