She was predeceased by: her husband Herschel E. Bates; and her siblings, Shirley Dunphy, Bernice Cox, Hazel Menge, Brian Wing and William Wing.
She is survived by: her son Erwin E. Bates (Elaine) of Williamsburg; her grandson Jarvis Erwin Bates (Beth); her great grandchildren, Taylor and Cameron; Ryan Spencer Bates (Michael Hand) and Jacob. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
