He is survived by : his daughter Caitlyn Mahoney; his granddaughter Aria; and his siblings, Maureen Kearns, Theresa Lamontagne, Joseph Mahoney, Edward Mahoney, Paul Mahoney, Catherine Lagassey, Patricia Mahoney and Michelle Miller. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“I knew John for a couple of years. He was my brother's neighbor. John was always courtesy and quiet. He loved watching Football with his neighbors. John also loved talking about his family and had many interesting stories. I was so sad to hear about his passing. My deepest condolences to the family.”
