He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew George Buchanan and Ruth Beatrice Vaughan Buchanan; his former wife Sandra J. Buchanan; and his brothers, Matthew V. Buchanan and Robert J. Buchanan.
He is survived by: his brother Richard J. Buchanan (Susan); his wife Deborah Buchanan; his children, Matthew D. Buchanan, Stephanie J. Knight and Alison M. Morley; his stepdaughter Nicole M. Federico; his brother-in-law Mark A. Hoerner; his mother-in-law Judith A. Hoerner; and his sisters-in-law, Priscilla O'Hara and Sandra Busi Buchanan. He is also survived by six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
