He is survived by: his wife Jane; his children, Kate, Sarah, Sam and Emily; and his grandchildren, Eliose, Rowan and Charlie.

“Bob was my Director at Elan in the early 1980's. As much as I wish to forget my time there, I still consider Bob to have been a very decent and concerned member of the staff. Bob always tried to remind us that Elan was temporary, and we were all going to return to the community. That's what he tried to stress on everybody. And he was right. I learned a lot from Bob. He was a good guy.”
