She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Sr. Barringer and Helen Barringer (Silva); her husband Philip R. Tanner; her son Mark Tanner; and her siblings, Robert, Catherine, Walter Jr., Joan, Paul, Richard Barringer and Marjorie Langford.

She is survived by: her children, Carol Foster (Carl) and Paul Tanner (Debrah); her grandchildren, Meghan, Kaitlyn Foster, Carl Tanner and Scott Tanner (Rebekah); her sister Rita Finn; and her sister-in-law Martha Freeman. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Portland Parks Conservancy, 212 Canco Rd., Suite A, Portland, Maine 04103 for the Portland Harbor Common in memory of Helen's brother Richard.
