As we bid adieu to John's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration John has bequeathed us. He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Townsend "Big John" and Sandra J. Townsend (Knight); and his pet Jenny. He is survived by: his wife Yuzhi Sun "CoCo"; his stepdaughter Nicole; his daughter Tabitha Emery (Shawn Emery); his grandson Gavin Emery; and his sister Tammy Linscott (Jeff Linscott). He is also survived by siblings, cousins, nieces and a nephew.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the No Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations to be made to the Gosnall House in Scarborough where John and his family received exceptional care during his extended stay.
