He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilas Murphy and Mona Murphy (Meunier); his brother Michael Murphy; and his son-in-law Stephen LaCroix. He is survived by: his wife Julie Murphy; his children, Peter (Caitlin), Marin and Christin; his grandchildren, Michaela, Meyrick, Pryce, Maverick (Stephen), Avery, Lyla, Gavyn, Dylan and Alyssa; and his sister Colleen Murphy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
