We announce the death of Sally Carmichael (South Berwick, Maine), who passed away on August 7, 2026, at the age of 89. Sally will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Sally will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Sally will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Sally’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Myra Hilbourn and Albert Hilbourn; and her daughter Kimberley Groglio of Connecticut. She is survived by: her husband Edward Carmichael of New Hampshire; her daughter Suzanne; and her siblings, Sharon Devine of Massachusetts and Philip Knowlton of Maine. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sally's memory to the Alzheimer's Association (https://donorservices.alz.org) or Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center https://giving.mskcc.org will be held on Thursday August 20th at McIntyre McCooey Funeral home in South Berwick, Maine at 10:00 am.
