He was predeceased by: his parents, Atte Hertell and Helen Hertell; his wife Doris; and his brothers, Uuno Hertell, Atte "Edwin" Hertell and Arthur Hertell.
He is survived by: his sister Alice Forbus of West Paris; his children, Debbie Isaac of Florida, Atte Hertell of South Paris and Cliff Hertell of South Paris; his daughter-in-law Sonja Hertell; his grandson Kyle; and his great grandchild Kyler. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
