He was predeceased by: his parents, A. J. and Mary S. Mixson; his daughter Laura Frances Mixson; and his siblings, Charles, Herman, James Mixson, Frances Morton, Marjorie Whitehurst and Doris Barker.
He is survived by: his wife Meta Devine (Mimi); his daughter Kathi Pawlowski (Jack); his grandsons, Brooks Edward Schandelmeier (Chelsea) and Lucas Miles Schandelmeier (Christina); his brother Joseph J. Mixson (Mary); and his sister-in-law Jan Mixson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
