He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Monk and Alice Harris (Swaney); his great grandchild Hadlee Brown of Farmingdale, Maine; and his brothers-in-law, Sherman VanHorne (New Brunswick) of St. Stephen and Robert Dyer (Norma) of Lambert Lake, Maine.

He is survived by: his children, Brian Monk (Beth) and Cheryl Long (Mark) of Vanceboro, Maine; his grandchildren, Anthony Monk (Maureen Mahoney) of Mount Vernon, Colleen Monk (Dustin) of Farmingdale, Katrina Long (Brady Long) of Bangor and Kayla Long (Anthony Peters) of Bangor, Maine; his great grandchild Laynee Brown; his siblings, William Monk (Stacy) and Brenda McLaughlin (Joe) of St. Stephen; his siblings-in-law, Eleanor Dyer of Vanceboro, Maine and Otis Dyer Jr. of Lambert Lake, Maine.; and his wife Teresa Monk (Dyer).

In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations to the Vanceboro Community Center or the Vanceboro United Methodist Church.
