He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Peters and Ruth Pomerleau; his brother Daniel Peters; and his pet Casey. He is survived by: his former wife Debra Peters; his daughter Holly Ryan (Greg Ryan); his grandchild Brooke Sheldon (Hayden Sheldon); his great grandchild Blair; his daughters, Beth Bell (William) and Bell; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Samantha and Trenton; his great grandchild Russell Peters (Cathryn); and his siblings, Joanne Eggert (late Chuck Eggert) and Richard Pomerleau (Lisa Pomerleau) of Winslow. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Upon retiring in 2016, Doug fulfilled a lifelong dream when he purchased his camp in Stratton, Maine, where he enjoyed many peaceful days before his Parkinson's diagnosis in 2019.
