David Meuarld Petrie Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David Meuarld Petrie in Wells, Maine, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 26, 2026 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Meuarld Petrie and Helen Petrie (Friese); his sister Edith Mendes (Petrie) of Taunton; and his nephew Michael Madden. He is survived by: his spouse Ray Giroux; his sister Joyce (Donald Capobianco) of Hudson, Massachusetts.; his nieces and nephews, Patricia Sweeney, Stephen Madden, Kathleen Gardner, Carolyn Rannacher, Steven Capobianco, Dawne Vittiglio, Debra Capobianco and Jeffrey Capobianco; and his friend Alex Greenwald. He is also survived by friends, and neighbors.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Jones-Rich-Barnes Funeral Home (199 Woodford St, Portland, ME 04103). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home (199 Woodford St, Portland, ME 04103). A burial was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Evergreen Cemetery (672 Stevens Ave, Portland, ME 04103).
