He was predeceased by: his father Warren E. Downs; his wife Rochelle Parlin Downs; his sons, Roger Chase Jr. and Daniel Howard Downs; his siblings, James Warren, Harry Leonard Downs and Sallie Ann Curtis; and his mother Pearl Emma Downs.
He is survived by: his daughter Vicki L. Legere (Joseph) of Falmouth; his granddaughters, Blair E. Legere (Warren M. Blood) of Manhattan, Grace V. Hawkes (Carter) of Norfolk, Virginia and Carly M. Downs; his great grandchild Elise Danielle of Waltham, Massachusetts; his son-in-law Claude A. Castonguay of Biddeford; his brother John Haley Downs of Jefferson; and his daughter-in-law Peggy Flanagan of Whitefield. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Sheepscot Valley Community Church (25 Pittston Rd, Whitefield, ME 04353).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Whitefield Cemetery Corporation, the Whitefield Historical Society or the Whitefield Union Hall in Kings Mills.
