She was predeceased by: her parents, George Ballard and Alice Ballard; her husband Fred Brown; her children, Mark Edward Brown and Diane Muriel Reynolds (Mark Brown); her brothers, Robert W. (Helen Ballard), Milton W. (Charlena Ballard) and Richard I. (Charlotte Ballard); and her former husband Carleton Mendell.
She is survived by: her son Timothy Brown of Windham; her children-in-law, Marsha Brown and Craig Reynolds; and her children, Fred P. Brown (Sylvia) of Augusta, Dennis Brown (Karen) of Portland, Jeffrey Brown (Margaret) of Portland, Suzanne Dube (Robert) of Windham, Debra Surran (John) of Saco and Kimberly Denis (Nate) of Kennebunk. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Because floral decisions have been preplanned, the family requests that donations in Clara's name be made to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
