He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Luther Murphy and Alice Murphy of Skowhegan, Maine.; his wife Judith Lee Perry; his grandson Steven; his sons, Jeffery (Julie) of Harrison, Lloyd Neal Murphy II and Steven (Ruth) of Windham; and his siblings, Warren (Nancy) of Madison and Ann (Steve Macbeth) of Fort Colins. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
