With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Reed of Wiscasset, Maine, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 20, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Joan departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Joan may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Joan leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Forrest Johnson and Josephine Johnson (Sutter); her husband Cecil Reed; her brother Bill Johnson; and her siblings-in-law, Larry Reed and Betty Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Katie (Norman Bryant), Chris Reed (Jackie), Kevin Reed (Melinda) and Kent Reed (Marci); her brother Stanley Johnson; and her sister-in-law Terri Reed. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
