He was loved and cherished by many people including : his father Charles Lewis Harding Jr.; his wife Margaret Bright Harding (Peggy); his daughter Margaret Harding Owen (John Owen) of New Canaan, CT; his siblings, Marie Harding (Flash) of Santa Fe, NM and Henry Harding (Mary Harding) of York, ME; his grandchildren, Martie Curran (Alberto Arnedo Ruiz), James Curran, Caroline, Maggie Owen, Calais and Lizzie Harding; his stepgrandsons, Charles and Henry Sharpe; and his brother Charles Harding.

“Dear Peggy, I came to love and admire Ed as a boss way back in the 70's and early 80's and as a friend for nearly 50 years. He was a unique individual who I admired greatly. In the last few years, Ed bound together through his actions and personality a diverse group of his former co-workers. We owe him much and will miss him greatly. I loved traveling with Ed, especially in Europe - except for those wind sprints in the middle of our morning jogs. My heartfelt condolences to you. Buck Close”
