She was predeceased by : her parents, Floyd Edwards and Fannie Edwards (Lewis); her daughter Natalie Colston; her son-in-law John Colston; and her brother Floyd Edwards.

She is survived by : her daughter Courtney VanValkenburg (Rich); her grandchildren, Claudia, Ethan of Michigan, Blake Colston (Hayley) and Vaughan Colston (Hope); her great grandchild Lizzie; her grandchild Steele Colston (Krista); her great grandchild Matilda of North Carolina; her sister Lucy Byrd; and her sister-in-law Josephine Edwards of North Carolina.
