We announce the death of Joel Victor Jannenga of Ada, Michigan, born in Rockford, Michigan, who passed away on July 26, 2026, at the age of 84. Joel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Jannenga and Virginia Jannenga; his great grandchild Westley Robert; his parents-in-law, Gus and Margaret Jastifer; and his siblings-in-law, Bill Middleton, Carolyn Jastifer and Kathy Gerke.
He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Jannenga (Jastifer); his children, Margie Slupe (Russ), Kenny Jannenga (Michelle), Mary Nugent (Bob), Colleen Miller (Tom), Dennis Jannenga (Sharla), Andy Jannenga (Rose), Greg Jannenga, Nathan Jannenga (Jane) and Sarah Ludovico (Joe); his grandchildren, Nichole (Pat), McKenzie (Haydn), Gus (Brandy), Ryan (Melissa), Alan (Hannah Mae), Erin (Tom), Jason (Jessica), Hannah (Bryan), Hendrick (Isabelle), Abe (Peter), Rylee (Kelton), Jacob (Carisa), Ethan (Skylar), Finnley, Logan, Nora (Jake), Nolan (Madeline), James (Olivia), Kai, Malia, Kami and Eli; and his great grandchildren, Callie, Hadley, Braxton, Mara, Hennes, Ayvlin, Baylee, Dilynn, Jepson, Bella, Warren, Trapp, Hazel, Cylas, Willow, Molly, Margot, Brooks, Joleenah, Juliette, Danny and Tommy. He is also survived by his siblings; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joel's name may be made to St. Patrick's School in Parnell.
